Privacy Policy

We believe privacy should be simple. Here's exactly what we collect and why.

📱 Stays on device Your game progress, missions, and rewards are stored locally on your device.

1 Who We Are

GridZen is a block placement puzzle game developed and published as an independent app. This Privacy Policy explains how GridZen ("we", "our", or "the app") handles information when you play on Android or iOS devices.

By playing GridZen, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app.

2 What We Collect

GridZen collects the minimum data necessary to operate its features.

We never collect: your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, camera, microphone, or any other sensitive personal information.

3 Third-Party Services

GridZen uses the following Google Firebase services. Each is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Service What it does
Firebase Authentication Signs you in anonymously — no credentials required or stored.
Cloud Firestore Stores your anonymous ID and high score for the global leaderboard.
Firebase Crashlytics Collects crash logs and performance data to help us fix bugs.

No other third-party SDKs, analytics tools, or advertising networks are included in GridZen.

4 How We Use Your Data

  • To display your score on the global leaderboard alongside other anonymous players.
  • To diagnose crashes and fix bugs so the game stays stable for everyone.
  • To save your game progress, daily mission state, and preferences locally on your device.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the game. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party beyond the Firebase services listed above.

5 Data Retention

  • Leaderboard data — your anonymous ID and score are kept as long as you rank on the leaderboard or until you request deletion.
  • Crash reports — retained by Crashlytics for 90 days, after which they are automatically deleted.
  • Local game data — stored on your device and deleted automatically when you uninstall the app.

6 Children's Privacy

GridZen is suitable for all ages. Because we collect only anonymous technical data and no personally identifiable information, the app complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Families Policy.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has submitted personal data through the app, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.

7 Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request deletion of your leaderboard entry and anonymous Firebase account.
  • Opt out of crash reporting by contacting us — we will provide an opt-out mechanism in a future update.
  • Delete all local game data by uninstalling the app.

8 Security

All communication between GridZen and Firebase is encrypted in transit using TLS. Firebase enforces strict Firestore security rules that prevent any user from reading or modifying another user's data. Your anonymous ID is cryptographically generated and cannot be reversed to identify you.

No security system is perfect. If you discover a vulnerability, please report it to us responsibly before disclosing it publicly.

9 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when we add new features or services. When we do, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. Continued use of GridZen after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

We will not change this policy in a way that reduces your privacy rights without providing advance notice through an in-app message.
